Would You Buy a Three-Door Ford Edge?

Rendering

Obviously Ford would have to green light it first.

The all-new Ford Edge has arrived and the initial impressions from readers and the media alike have been mostly positive. Although official test drives have yet to begin, chances are that Ford has once again built a future best-seller. The crossover segment is mega hot these days, and many owners of the first-generation Edge are likely at the point where it’s time to buy a new car. Ford is hoping they’ll be back.

But would it make sense for Ford to expand the Edge lineup by, literally, making it smaller? Rendering artist Theophilus Chin has just created this new set of images showing what a three-door Edge could look like. The front grille has been slimmed down and there are steeper rear windows. Overall, it looks pretty damn good, but we doubt Ford would have the balls to go ahead with it.
