This is BMW’s most expensive paint.
When BMW customerspurchase a new vehicle they have more than 230 options to select from. One ofthem just so happens to be BMW’s Individual Pure Metal Silver from the BMWIndividual Catalog and it will set you back a whopping $10,000. The chrome effectof the Pure Metal Silver finish is produced through a water-based paint system andunique-effect pigment that consists of an incredible amount of ultra-thinaluminum flakes. As you can guess, applying this paint is an arduousprocess.
To give the paint its special high-metallic appearance, reflective properties and light-dark effect, all the flakes have to face the same direction. It’s an impressive process but there’s no way we’re shelling out an extra $10,000for it.
