Would You Really Pay THIS Much For The German-Fighting Lexus GS F?

This price will raise German eyebrows.

For some time now, Lexus has been putting out cars that aim to knockwell established German luxury and performance brands off the top of the mountain. Itlooks like the company will be keeping that strategy going into next year, because the pricing on the 2016 GS F is loftier than you might expect. We nowknow that the minimum cost for a base GS F will be a rather hefty $84,440.That doesn’t even include almost a grand for destination and processingfees. Yeah, a quoted price usually a thousand or two off the real deal.

So the lowest amount you could actually expect to pay would be $85,380in the United States, higher than this model's predecessor. Lexus has placed the GS G in direct competition with heavyweights like the BMW M5 and theMercedes-Benz E63 AMG. Can this performance and luxury-oriented competitor fromToyota keep up with the pack? Starting with the engine, we know that the GS F will boast the same5.0-liter V8 that can be found in the RC F. The aforementioned power plant translates to almost 470 hp at 7,100 RPM.In the GS F, you’ll also see 389 pound-feet of torque, and Lexus isconfident that this model will be able to make a 0 to 60 mph run in just 4.4seconds. Is all power enough to warrant its big price?
