It's not such a bad swap.
Before the 918 Spyder, Porsche had another supercar: the Carrera GT. Only 1,270 were made between 2004 and 2006, with over half of those coming to North America. You can read more about the awesome supercar here, but just know that it was technologically ahead of its time and that its 5.7-liter mid-mounted V10 still makes respectable performance today. You do consider 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph respectable, right?
This particular example is a 2006 model (number 1,181), has 9,321 miles on it and is up for sale for the princely sum of $1,093,070. That’s a high price to pay for a “used” and “old” supercar but there’s no denying that the Carrera GT is a work of art and an important piece of Porsche history. If you do decide to buy it as an investment or museum piece please promise to take it out at least once in a while!
