You Are Now Officially Likely To Survive A Crash In A Ford Mustang

But seriously, still be careful. No joke.

Cars today are safer than ever thanks to strict government and insurance industry safety standards. This doesn't mean that it's impossible not to get seriously injured or even killed in a car crash, but your chances of survival are pretty damn good. And now the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has just announced that that newly redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang has earned a five-star overall rating. Obviously that's a good score.

The agency stated that the Mustang was put through its New Car Assessment Program, which includes side and front crash tests and even rollover testing. Occupants stand a good chance of walking away if a serious accident were to occur thanks to safety features like inflatable airbag restraints, crash sensors throughout the car, and adaptive cruise control. Also contributing to your safety is the fact that Ford doubled the number of airbags in this Mustang over its predecessor. And, for the record, the latest Dodge Challenger and Chevrolet Camaro also received five-star overall ratings. So happy driving, but don't push your luck.
