The Chevrolet Trailblazer has proven to be a massive success. In fact, it's so popular that Chevy has had some major issues keeping up with demand, and the sporty RS trim has proven to be especially popular. Chevy also offers the Blazer, and both these crossovers appeal to the budget-minded buyer who's after a solid balance of features and performance. One of the Trailblazer's biggest selling points up until now was its sub $20,000 price tag, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, as Chevy recently announced that the 2022 model year will start at $22,795 including destination fees.

For the 2022 model year, Chevrolet has decided to discontinue the entry-level L trim which used to start at $19,000 before tax, registration, and destination, and would creep to just over $20k all-inclusive. This price increase isn't exclusive to the Trailblazer, other GM cars have also seen a price creep for 2022, increasing on average by around $2,000. The 2022 GMC Terrain for instance saw a price increase of $2,900, and the Chevy Equinox is now $2,000 more expensive. We doubt that the bump in price will have a major impact on the sales figures of the Trailblazer, seeing as the L trim wasn't the best deal out of the lineup, despite its appealing price.

The LS trim now represents the base model and comes with a seriously impressive list of standard features for a car that costs under $23k. The LS comes standard with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine producing 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission. Standard features include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, in-car Wi-Fi, and Chevrolet's Safety Assist suite of driver assistance systems. For 2022, the Trailblazer is offered with new exterior paint colors, a heated steering wheel on higher trims, and new optional extras such as rock rack cross rails and a trailer package.
