The Chevrolet Corvette has been a hot topic for some time. Whether it's wacky aftermarket body kits, talk of a hybrid model, or unlikely drag races, there's always something new happening in the world of the C8 Stingray. However, what most 'Vette fans are interested in is the upcoming Z06 model that will draw inspiration from the C8.R racecar. It's one of the most hotly anticipated releases in ages, but what if you can't wait to see what a faster C8 is like and you don't have the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a racecar? The solution is the virtual world, and the C8.R has just been unleashed in it.

This week, Chevrolet announced that its mid-engined GT Le Mans IMSA racer is now available on iRacing, the virtual racing simulator. As part of season four of the game, the C8.R is now available for purchase in the online championship. This should make ffans of the game and the car happy as iRacing's executive VP says. "The C8.R has already proven to be incredibly popular in the real world, and our users have been requesting it ever since it made its public debut last year." So news of the car's inclusion of the game will undoubtedly be well received. Who wouldn't want to play with a 5.5-liter V8 producing 500 horsepower?

Considering the car's success in the real world, which including a win in just its third race followed by two more dominant performances in a row, virtual racers will be excited to grab the podium with this machine. The color schemes available for the car are mirror images of those seen on the real-life versions, complete with huge rear wing and splashes of yellow paint. As exciting as this news is, it's just reawakened our interest in the Z06, and we can't wait to find out what Chevy has planned for the car. Come on, Chevrolet. Just give it to us already.
