You Can Still Buy the Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe (For Now)

Industry News

It'll soon be the end of an era.

Mercedes-AMG just revealed its all-new C63 at the Paris Motor Show, and it promises to exceed its predecessor in every significant performance category. That’s the good news. And, until spring of 2015, the previous generation C63 AMG Coupe will still be available to buy. After that, well, it won’t have a direct replacement. There won’t be a Mercedes-AMG C63 coupe, just a sedan and wagon. Why should you at least be somewhat sad?

Because the outgoing C63 is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V8 with 451 horsepower. If you’ve ever heard one in person, you’ll understand our sadness completely. The new 2015 Mercedes-AMG C63 comes with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that also promises to pack a powerful punch. According to Car and Driver, the high-performance sedan is due to arrive in the US in March. As long as there are still some left in stock, it’ll be until that time that you can buy the old coupe.
