If you've been to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame any time in the last few years then you've likely seen Janis Joplin's 1965 Porsche 356C on display. The air-cooled roadster was purchased in 1968 and became an icon of the 60s when Joplin had friend and roadie Dave Richards cover it in a psychedelic mural. Richard's "The History of the Universe" turned the already awesome car into a trippy work of art and like most iconic works of art it will be sold to the highest bidder at auction.

RM Sotheby's is offering it up for sale in December, estimating that it'll go for around $400,000. We wouldn't be surprised if that number jumped substantially as both the car and the art on it are, well, art. Take into account Joplin's celebrity status and a bidding war between some very wealthy baby boomers trying to recapture their youth may break out. All we ask is that whoever wins drives it around, as a car this pretty deserves to see the road every now and then.
