Your Favorite Ford Bronco Color Might Disappear For 2022

Off-Road / 4 Comments

These four colors will not be available for the 2022 Bronco.

The Ford Bronco has already been a monumental success for Ford. Demand for the reborn off-roader is so high that some customers who have placed an order will have to wait until the 2022 model year to get behind the wheel. We aren't expecting any major changes for the 2022 Bronco, but a post on the Bronco6G forum shows that some color options that were available for the 2021 model will not carry over.

As shown in a leaked image posted on the forum, eight color options will be available for the 2022 Bronco: Shadow Black, Iconic Silver, Area 51, Carbonized Gray, Cactus Gray, Race Red, Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, and Oxford White. By contrast, the 2021 Bronco is available with 12 color options.

Notably, Rapid Red, Antimatter Blue, and Velocity Blue have been removed from the 2022 Bronco's color palette. Lightning Blue is also not available, but this is not surprising since it was exclusive to the Bronco First Edition, which was limited to 7,000 units.

Earlier this year, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager Mike Levine confirmed that the 2022 Bronco will get new colors after being asked if Cyber Orange will be available for 2022, but every option in the leak was previously available for 2021. "Not sure if Cyber Orange will still be available for MY22. New colors come in when others go and there are new colors coming in 2022," said Levine.

Cyber Orange and Rapid Red cost an extra $295, so it's possible that Ford will add some new premium color options that are not shown in the leak and make Cyber Orange a standard color option. Alternatively, Ford could be reserving new color options for the high-performance Warthog variant.

In addition, the same forum thread also leaks the available color options for the 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. For 2022, 13 colors will be available for the GT500: Grabber Blue, Atlas Blue, Code Orange, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Eruption Green, Shadow Black, Dark Matter Grey, Iconic Silver, Carbonized Grey, Oil Slick Blue-Purple, Race Red, Cyber Orange Metallic, and Oxford White.
