Zenvo, the Danish hypercar maker, has just announced the successor to its TSR line of hypercars will be called the Aurora and that it will be powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine with integrated hybrid assist. The newcomer will debut this August and is targeting a top speed of more than 248 mph. A limited run of just 100 units will be available, with Zenvo citing that 30 are already reserved. The production run will be split - in an unknown ratio - between Agil (agile) and Tur (tour) models catering to track-focused and grand touring-oriented drivers, respectively.

The manufacturer has been around since 2004, but until a few years ago had never made a street-legal car until the TSR-S came along. That car was then followed by the 1,360 hp TSR-GT with a limited top speed of 263 mph.

These are Bugatti Chiron Super Sport numbers, meaning the automaker was aiming to take down the absolute best of them. After rumors swirled late last year of a true successor to the TSR being built, we finally know it is coming later this year.

Last year, the company debuted the design of its car to specific prospective clients. It outlined that the model would use an all-new modular carbon fiber monocoque and carbon subframes and be AWD. Power would come from the insane 6.0-liter V12 setup that will utilize two electric turbochargers mated to a Zenvo eight-speed automatic gearbox. At the time, it was rumored the system would produce around 1,500 hp in the base setup, with an extreme 1,800-hp model being floated down the line.

These numbers are yet to be confirmed but may be applicable to the two different trims. The Tur model is touted as having a 248-mph top speed, but it's likely the Agil will be the high-power version with a ton of extra downforce. Whether it makes use of Zenvo's wacky centripetal wing remains to be seen.

The assumption is that both of these models will be road legal, as Zenvo says it will be globally homologated - meaning it could pop up at your local Cars & Coffee meet. The car will be available to buyers worldwide and is the beginning of a ten-year plan that will hopefully push the automaker to new heights. Central to this is the V12, which will be featured in more Zenvo products going forward.

"Today is a very proud moment in the company's history," Zenvo's chief commercial officer and chairman of the board, Jens Sverdrup said. "It is a remarkable honor to direct our growing team, as we undertake the most exciting phase in the history of the company. This car has come from the passion that runs deep in the Zenvo family and very much aligns with our ethos of 'smiles per mile'. 2023 is going to be a truly exciting year."
