We first learned about Norwegian tuner Zyrus Engineering's heavily modified 1,200 horsepower Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo-based LP1200 last summer during its Nurburgring testing. It managed to secure a lap time of 6:48.56. Generating a total of 2,645 pounds of downforce, the heavily re-engineered Zyrus LP1200 required 527 different parts from the Huracan Super Trofeo, and just 24 production examples are planned, half of which will be street-legal.

Today, the latter version has debuted. The Zyrus LP1200 Strada is the second build version of the Huracan LP640-4 and all of the work was done by hand. This time around, over 600 parts were changed and about 172 pounds were shaved from the fully carbon track variant. Total weight comes to 3,145 pounds.

Making it road legal also required engineers to reduce output from 1,200 hp to a still impressive 900 hp. However, the simple push of a button raises output back to 1,200 for track use only. A total of 4,431 pounds of downforce is produced at 124 mph. Both track and road cars incorporate Inconel manifolds and titanium exhaust systems, in-house built carbon fiber parts, and outstanding overall quality. LP1200 Strada pricing begins at €595,000 and that includes a track day familiarization program staffed by the engineers who created this monster.

The race-going version, meanwhile, begins at €525,000 and also includes that track day instruction. Customers can also sign up for the "Bespoke Driver Package" which includes even more intensive training.

Pre-orders for both versions are now being accepted and customers will have "varying options for trim and color." The recently revealed Lamborghini Huracan STO and all of its 630 hp and track-derived technologies are without question impressive, but the LP1200 Strada simply takes things to another level in terms of overall performance, track capabilities, and exclusivity.

When the most extreme factory-built supercar simply isn't quite extreme enough, Zyrus is there to fill that void.
