We sometimes get a bit nervous when the words “jet engine” and “homemade” get used in the same sentence. But when we get to watch it in a video, and don’t have to be anywhere near the thing when it starts up, we’re all in favor of it. And so we bring you this video from the UK of a jet-powered kart built by a couple of guys in a shed. It’s awesome in all of the ways that you would want a homemade jet kart to be, complete with flames.

The aforementioned flames come courtesy of an afterburner which has also been installed, evidence that these are no ordinary amateurs.
