Goodwood 75, as it is being called, is planned to span a variety of motorsport events and venues over the course of the year, honoring and celebrity the motorsport industry.
Aside from the opening of the circuit, the event celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Festival of Speed, and the 25th anniversary of the Goodwood Revival and the Goodwood Road Racing Club.
If you want to indulge in the festivities, the Festival of Speed runs from July 13-16, and the Goodwood Revival from September 8-10.
Lotus will be the featured marque at the Hillclimb event, as it too shares a 75th anniversary. Meanwhile, the 100th anniversary of Le Mans will be commemorated at the Festival.
The Goodwood Circuit was opened by the Duke of Richmond at the behest of Australian fighter pilot Tony Gaze. The first event was the Bristol 500, won by Stirling Moss.
