Can Audi Do The Impossible And Turn The Allroad Into A Beast?

Rumor / Comments

Automaker plans track-oriented super wagon.

Besides the Audi R8 and its RS lineup, the automaker isn't known for creating high-powered vehicles that are fun to drive. Take the Audi Allroad as an example. It's a fine wagon that's a better alternative to the mundane SUV, but it never caught on because it's a little boring. Audi has the perfect cure for the dull Allroad that involves turning the vehicle into a track-oriented monster. Unbelievably, Audi may be working on a RS version that would be named the RS6 Allroad.

According to a report by German magazine Auto Bild, Audi plans to show the RS6 Allroad for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show. The wagon is rumored to be powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that would make around 560 hp. The engine would come out of the RS6 and could propel the wagon to 60 mph in roughly four seconds. Audi's upcoming high-performance wagon would become the fastest Allroad and the most capable RS6 ever built. It probably won't go on sale in the US, which is a shame because a high-performance wagon, that could be used for off-roading purposes, sounds incredible.
