Turn 10 Studios has revealed the cover cars for the upcoming Forza Motorsport racing game. Front and center are two high-performance beasts from General Motors - the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray and the 2023 No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R.

Interestingly, hybrid cars rarely get the spotlight in this long-running game. The only other time the game series showcased a hybrid on its cover was on Forza Motorsport 5 with the McLaren P1.

For those unfamiliar, "cover car" means that these rides will be the face of the new video game. They will appear on the racing game's physical disc copies for the Xbox Series X/S, and on the Microsoft Windows store since the title will also be released for the PC.

This signifies that the widespread acceptance of electrified sports cars is at an all-time high. Even the National Council Of Corvette Owners reversed the Corvette E-ray ban that prohibited it from competing at its events. And yes, being featured on the cover of a wildly popular game such as Forza also foreshadows that future real-life race drivers might use cars like the Corvette E-Ray to compete.

Then again, the hybrid-powered 'Vette being used to compete in real life or in the confines of Forza's beautifully sculpted digital world won't come as a surprise. After all, the hybrid Corvette is not a slacker - its motor-assisted 6.2-liter V8 can make a total of 655 horsepower sent to all four wheels. Chevy then claims that it does 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds.

The other cover car, the No.1 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R, is a prototype designed to race in grand touring and endurance racing events. Unlike the Corvette E-Ray, which is a production vehicle that you can purchase for over $100,000, you can't drive this prototype in real life. and that's another reason to look forward to this upcoming game.

If you're excited about the yet-to-be-released Forza Motorsport 8, you might also want to check out the in-game version of this Chevy at the Xbox Games Showcase on June 11, 2023, where an up-close look will be provided for both cover cars.

Forza Motorsport 8 will reportedly be released this year, though a specific date has yet to be announced.
