"To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing." This gem of a quote has been attributed to both Aristotle and American publisher Elbert Hubbard, but regardless of who said it, the meaning isn't lost on us. One could say that many automakers have been motivated by the same sentiment over the course of Pride Month. Several, like Ford, have passionately displayed their support for the LGBTQ+ community in colorful and creative ways despite unfortunate and predictable pushback from a homophobic minority. We are 100% certain that there are more pressing concerns in the world than Ford's very awesome, Very Gay Raptor. Now, Jaguar Land Rover has announced its plans for the 2022 NYC Pride March and there's a lot to admire about what the company is doing.

Grand Marshals will be chauffeured at the event in a colorful array of vehicles from the JLR stable. These include five F-Types, an F-Pace SVR, and a Land Rover Defender V8, one of the most unique SUVs for sale right now. The cars will don special Pride colors, and they'll be as charismatic to the ear as to the eye as they all sport brawny V8 power plants. The Grand Marshals include actress and comedian Punkie Johnson, and Ts Madison, a reality TV personality and LGBT activist.

But JLR is going far beyond spending a few hours at the 53rd Pride celebration. The company recently appointed Anna Budden as its International Diversity & Inclusion Business Partner. Budden's global role will help to "create a culture of unity, belonging, inclusion, and respect" throughout the organization. At the event, JLR employees will march alongside the colorful Jags and Land Rovers.

"We're honored to participate in the 2022 NYC Pride March by chauffeuring the Grand Marshals and having Jaguar Land Rover employees participate in the march alongside our vehicles," said Joe Eberhardt, President, and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. "As a company, we are committed to a culture where everyone belongs and that means ensuring all of our employees, including our LGTBQ+ community, feel supported, heard, and celebrated. We could not be prouder to be part of this year's Pride March."

Interestingly, Jaguar hasn't said much about the 2023 F-Type that will appear at the event. It remains one of the most beautiful cars on sale right now, and last year, it arrived with a V8-only engine lineup that has carried over to 2023 largely unchanged.
