Luxury car tuner Carlex Design has created an exclusive edition of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe.

Carlex describes the GLE coupe as iconic, which is a bit of a stretch, although it is one of Mercedes-Benz's best-selling models. The tuner starts with what's becoming a signature two-tone paint combo and ends with an upholstery design for the interior.

We have no pricing, but it looks like complete overkill for a sub-$60,000 mass-market car. However, if you're interested, the roof comes in rich brown with a deep orange shade underneath and is mirrored inside by orange and brown upholstery with black accents and finished off with 22-inch forged alloy wheels.

Carlex Design says the special edition is designed to be sporty and elegant while also being unique and seems to pull it off in a world full of cars designed to be sporty and elegant.

To be fair, though, Mercedes has already done most of the work but also built the GLE Coupe to a price point. This is for those willing to exceed that price drastically without going down the Manufaktur route.

For example, Mercedes isn't about to wrap the steering wheel of a GLC with a combination of plain and perforated leather, and it certainly won't be putting Carlex Design emblems on the car body at the factory.

As well as the combinations of different leathers, the Carlex Design edition includes the headlining reupholstered with Alcantara. Carlex Design describes this as being "elegant and chic," but it strikes us as a bit of a cliche and a bit lazy, considering how good the rest of the interior looks.

Carlex Design is a European company, but it makes parts, including ready upholstered seats, available separately and assembling a complete edition at its facility in Poland.
