Six-time NBA champion and MVP Michael Jordan once again proves that he has impeccable taste in cars. He's just bought a new one, and this might be MJ's most bonkers ride yet.

The reveal came via a post on the official Hennessey Performance Facebook page. The said post, which was taken on The Grove XXIII, MJ's private golf course, shows company CEO John Hennesey delivering the ultra-rare Venom F5 Roadster to the NBA superstar.

Now if you've kept up with the 60-year-old former NBA champ over the years, then you'll know that he previously drove a 2007 Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 Edition. Further back in time, he also owned a Mercedes-Benz S600 V12 Coupe. As seen in The Last Dance documentary series, Jordan has owned a stable of slick rides in his lifetime, including a Ferrari 550 and a Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet Slant Nose.

The new beast in his garage though is on a whole new level. For starters, this limited-production supercar retails for around $ 3.5 million. And for that huge chunk of dough, one gets a mid-mounted 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 capable of making an eye-watering 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet of torque.

Going back to the Facebook post, it doesn't show much of the car itself. Visible, however, is its carbon fiber front quarter lined with yellow pinstripes. The front bumper also appears to canards with yellow accents, too. A smidge of the cockpit is visible, and it looks like it was kept stock with its digital instrument clusters and yoke-type steering wheel.

Style-wise, the F5 Roadster borrows much of the same curves and angles from the Venom F5 Coupe, especially on its front end. But instead of a fixed roof, the Roadster version uses a removable carbon-fiber top. This bumps up the convertible version's weight to 3,100 lbs, which is 102 lbs heavier than the coupe.

Another addition provided for the roadster includes a tempered glass panel that provides a glimpse of the Venom F5's mechanical heart. That's a nice touch for gearheads like Jordan because we reckon he'd want to take an occasional gander at a roaring twin-turbo V8.

Hennessey says that it is "the world's fastest and most powerful convertible" and claims it can break the 300-mph barrier. But Bugatti has its own view on this.

That said, Jordan's 23XI NASCAR team drivers might want to get a taste of the Venom. That would be ultra-generous though, considering that His Airness is one of only 30 people to own an F5 Roadster.
