The Tesla Cybertruck. Whether we're talking about its proposed capabilities, its launch date, its styling, or just about anything to do with the electric pickup, bringing the vehicle up in conversation tends to elicit a strong response. On the one hand, you have the obsessive fanboys who will defend it with their dying breath, and on the other, you have those who can only talk about its endless delays, numerous questionable design choices, and controversial features. Whatever your position on the Cybertruck, your opinion is probably a strong one, but how would you feel about a smaller Cybertruck? Well, according to a report from industry analyst Trip Chowdhry, that very thing could be on the cards.

As covered by StreetInsider, Chowdhry expects two versions of the vehicle to be unveiled, one of which is likely to be "15-20% smaller" than the full-size concept we first saw in 2019. It is suggested that this new baby Cybertruck would be smaller than the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux, while the original Cybertruck is still expected to slot in somewhere between the Ford F-150 and the Ford F-250 in terms of dimensions. Interestingly, this smaller truck was always a possibility, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk hinted in 2019: "We'll probably make an international version that's smaller. It will still be [cool], it will just be smaller, because you can't just make a giant truck like that for international markets."

Chowdhry goes on to claim that the smaller Cybertruck will be unveiled at a virtual event in March this year, but both this and the original will feature "significant tweaks" to their designs. Hopefully, this indicates a more cohesive design, but at this point, we have absolutely no clue just how meaningful these updates will be. That said, we wouldn't get our hopes up for a drastic overhaul in the styling department as recent spy shots have suggested that Tesla is sticking with the edgy design for the most part, but with the addition of side mirrors and different headlights. We'll have to wait a couple of months to learn the truth, but we're quietly optimistic that the Cybertruck will be worth the wait.
