Nissan released a new video highlighting the Z's 3.0-liter VR30DDTT gasoline engine. The Japanese automaker shows the engine's anatomy or internal parts to show its intricate timing and synchronization.

Folks at Nissan built a transparent VR30DDTT engine prototype that featured solid blocks of clear resin as well as chrome-painted internal parts - a successful version of what a group of Russian mechanics was trying to achieve before. The main goal of the project is to showcase the Nissan Z engine's precise clockwork movement. The VR30DDTT was first introduced in the Infiniti Q50.

The video comes with a straightforward theme - it has no fuzz and Nissan opted to not include any marketing jargon to it. The automaker simply wants to put the spotlight on the six-cylinder mill.

The Nissan Z debuted in the US in 2021 and is said to represent more than 50 years of passion and dedication toward driving excitement. The seventh-generation Z car is also the first time the Japanese automaker fitted it with a VR30DDTT engine. The said power unit is said to be optimized and tuned to offer a thrilling experience for Nissan Z drivers.

The Nissan Z's VR30DDTT is a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine that puts out 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The engine is connected to either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

Nissan claims that the Z's engine delivers a significant increase in power output over the previous generation 370Z. To put things in perspective, the automaker claims a 68-hp increase in power output and a 30% increase in torque.

The Nissan Z comes with distinctive styling that makes it stand out when driven out on the road. But, reports that surfaced last 2022 suggest that the Japanese automaker will introduce a Z Nismo as early as this year. Nissan, however, has yet to put out a word about it as of this writing.
