It's now an open secret that the next-generation BMW X3 is already in the works, and it could debut as early as 2024. We first spotted the all-new X3 back in June 2022 where the spy photos suggest that it will come with a new design direction as expected.

Caught in the first sighting of the new BMW X3 were the round quad exhaust pipes, which implies that it is an M Performance model. Take note though that BMW has plans to drop the M40i name in exchange for M50i but, nothing is official as of this writing.

Interestingly, the next-gen BMW X3 is once again spotted in the open while doing hot laps in the Nurburgring. The YouTube video uploaded by CarSpyMedia shows an X3 with quad exhaust pipes, suggesting that it will bear the coveted M badge. Not much can be seen on the vehicle while it is driving around the Green Hell since it's still wrapped in the familiar white-on-black camouflage.

But based on the previous photos supplied by our eagle-eyed photographers, the next-gen BMW X3 could get larger kidney grilles and a revamped lower grille. We also have the interior shots of the upcoming X3, which resembles the layout you see in the all-new BMW 5 Series.

It has a unified screen setup, suggesting that the next-gen X3 will come with a fully digital display. If it has the same operating system as the 5 Series, the X3's infotainment system can stream video as well as offer in-car gaming.

Meanwhile, a plug-in hybrid version, the X3 PHEV that was first spotted last year, was also seen doing a test run around Nurburgring in the same video. It's easily identifiable through the mandatory yellow sticker on the rear windshield. It first appeared at the 0:46 mark of the video and showed up once more at the 1:34 mark.
